A look behind the brand – what is the significance of the name CalFiS and the CalFiS logo?
Well, to start off with the company name, we are a California company offering Financial Services, CalFiS – as simple as that. Of course, and on the other hand – not to say the flip side – CalFiS is the reverse of fis-cal:
fiscal / ˈfɪskəl / – of or involving financial matters
And there is a bit of beauty to that, is there not?
As for our logo, we like the bear casually strolling towards us – as we believe. Peaceful, strong and confident. The bear is of course also a symbol of and a nod to the state of California.
It is most prominently featured on the flag of the state, where it is either considered a rendering of a bear named “Monarch”, that lived in the Zoo at Golden Gate Park, or a bear named “Samson” as painted in 1855 by Charles Nahl.
